Hello (none)
About me#

My name is Florian Hoss, I am 32 years old and a Full Stack Developer | Software Engineer.
As a security-conscious software developer, I place great importance on data protection and digital self-determination. I self-host all services I use daily and always keep track of which personally identifiable information (PII) ends up with external providers.
For communication, I prefer my own Matrix server, my email communication goes through the privacy-oriented provider Tutanota, and on my smartphone I use GrapheneOS for maximum security and privacy.
These principles also flow into my professional work, where I strive to consistently implement security best practices and privacy-friendly solutions.
Technical Understanding#
This is meant to give you only an overview of my technical skills. For more detailed information about my projects and experience, see Work Experience. My active Projects also provide insights into my practical skills and development style.

Personal Strengths#
- Problem-solving orientation and analytical thinking
- Independent work style and self-initiative
- Team skills through international experience
- Customer communication and technical support
Hobbies#
In my free time, I enjoy working on open-source projects to deepen my programming skills and contribute to the community.
At home, I run my own server with Unraid as the operating system, on which I host various services. Security is always the top priority: access is exclusively via VPN, secured by a UniFi Firewall with strict rules and regular security updates.
I’m particularly enthusiastic about Home Assistant and automating various things. I program and configure ESP32 and ESP8266-based devices to develop individual IoT solutions and make my home smarter – always with a focus on local networking without external dependencies.
I also enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and cycling, which help me find balance from my technical daily routine. Accordion and handball round out my leisure program.
